Employee Provident Fund (EPF) acts as a savings of employees. The employee and the employer contribute are equal amount towards savings that can be availed upon retirement or after leave jobs. The interest rate applicable to the EPF contributions is 8.5% for Current  Finance Year 2020-21.

You can now check your EPF balance via a missed call, SMS, via the EPFO app/Umang app, and the EPFO portal/Umang App. By allowing employees to access the EPFO balance, they can easily.

1. Using the EPFO Member portal:- Instead of the unified member portal, users will now be able to access their PF passbooks on a different website run by the EPFO. The unified member portal can, however, still be used for transactional services like transfers, claim KYC, and other details just using a single widows Login.

To view your PF passbook and other work on the member portal you need to have your account tagged with your Universal Account Number (UAN). You can download or print your EPF passbook from the website. Follow these steps-


Step 1: The member passbook is available at www.epfindia.gov.in so go to epfindia wabsite


First you go to  www.epfindia.gov.in home page then go to "Services"  under those click "For Employees" and you goes to New Window.


Step 2: Click on 'For Employees' under 'Our Services'

After coming New window bottom site in "Services" First option " Member Passbook" select then again open New Members Login Windows.


Step 3: Click on 'Member Passbook' under 'Services'


It will take you to the page as shown below-

To access the member passbook of your EPF account, do make sure your UAN is activated by the employer, Remember UAN is provided by the EPFO but it has to be verified and activated by your employer, So if you has already been activated, use it along with your UAN Number is your ID & password to login and check your passbook balance.

The passbook facility is not available for members of establishments that are ex.


Important


1. This facility is to view the Member Passbook for the members registered on the Unified Member Portal.

2. Passbook will be available after 6 Hours of registration at Unified Member Portal.

3. Changes in the credentials at Unified Member Portal will be effective at this Portal after after 6 Hours.

4. Passbook will have the entries which has been reconciled at the EPFO field offices.

5. Passbook facility not be available for the Exempted Establishments Members / Settled Members / InOperative Members.


2. EPF Balance Check By sending a SMS:- If your UAN is registered with the EPFO, you can get the details of your latest contribution and PF balance by sending an SMS to 7738299899. You need to send this message: EPFOHO <UAN Number> ENG. 'ENG' is the first three characters of the preferred language. So, if you want to receive the message in Marathi, then type in EPFOHO <UAN Number> MAR.

For Exam-fer" EPFOHO 1234567890 ENG

For SMS "Click Here"

( xxxx is your UAN Number)

The facility is available in 10 languages - English (default), Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, etc.


And EPFO already sent SMS Monthly when your PF is Summit in EPF Account, But here only for registered Mobile Number.


3. EPF Balance Check By giving a missed call:- If your Mobile Number, UAN Number and KYC are registered on the UAN portal, giving a missed call on 011 2290 1406  from your registered mobile number will get you the full details of your EPF. Do make sure your UAN is seeded with your bank account number, Aadhaar and PAN. You can also ask your employer to seed them for you.

There is no cost to available this service is absolutely FREE.


4. EPF Balance & Statement Check & Download By Using Umang app:- Employees can view their PF balance on mobile phones with the help of Umang app. Umang app was launched by the government to provide access to various government services in a single place. One can view EPF Member Passbook, raise claim and even track Claim using the app. To get started, you need to complete a one-time registration using your phone number.
